The Area
We are well aware that microclimate (terroir) is increasingly an important contributor to ensure high quality vintage- and consequently exceptionally quality wines.
As a result, the owners have chosen the Mountainous Larnaca region, in an ideal environment that is far enough from the city’s rhythms but at the same time located in the centre of the three main cities of Cyprus. The stunning estate is now located in a traditional and beautiful village, called Kato Drys.
We started cultivating our family vineyards around our new winery in 2008. Our place has been blessed with a treasure: the great sunshine that prevails almost all year round, a factor extremely important for the proper ripening of the grapes.
This element in combination with the excellent grape varieties of the island, such as Xinisteri and Maratheftiko, are the main secrets behind the excellent quality of our wines.
We are also experimenting with local grape varieties that had ceased to be grown systematically, such as Spourtiko, Giannoudi, Kanella and Morokanella.
In this way, we invest in the Cypriot vineyard, we respect the Cypriot tradition and we are sure that the land will reciprocate. The fertile soils of the area include various crops, with its hills being full of olive groves and vineyards.
Besides, for centuries the area has produced the famous commandaria, the famous wine that was loved by locals and foreigners since the Middle Ages.
